Synopsis
This
book is the first novel of Camilo Jose Cela Conde. It
narrates a story that develops in a very precise place
and time: a Mediterranean island during the Spanish postwar.
The island is the framework in which two children, Arturo
and his cousin Jose Manuel, live their summer adventures
and discover the cause of Arturo’s father dissapearance,
one of the jealously kept family secrets.
