Synopsis
"Julia arrived at
school in a February morning," Luis del Val tells,
and since that moment Clara’s life will change completely;
almost as much as the life of a family, a city and a country
in the last thirty years. This book is a story of friendship
and complicity, understanding, and mix-ups, between two
very different women from their childhood to adulthood.
The book is a story of the desire to live
and the incessant search of happiness, but it is also
the story of a corpse hidden in the closet for many years,
an unfulfilled dream, and a broken promise. Narrated in
such a personal and characteristic way, it is full of
benevolent irony and kind lucidity; this novel means the
return of Luis del Val to his greatest literary facet.
